Tap to Pay lets you accept contactless payments quickly and easily, directly from a compatible mobile device. Here are answers to the most common questions about this feature.

Why does the app sometimes ask for a PIN for a contactless payment?
When a contactless payment exceeds $50, the app may prompt you to enter your card PIN.
The keypad may appear offset or seem to "float" on screen. This is completely normal.
This design meets security standards put in place to reduce fraud risk. A floating keypad makes it much harder for anyone to capture your PIN fraudulently.
Why are payment messages displayed in English?
Messages such as "Present card" or "Payment accepted" that appear during a contactless payment come from our payment providers' interfaces.
We're currently unable to change these messages, as they're governed by strict security and certification requirements.
Our providers are planning to update these interfaces later this year.
Why can't the payment sound be turned off on iPhone?
Even if your iPhone is set to silent mode, a sound will play when a payment is processed.
This is Apple's deliberate choice. The behavior is intentionally enforced by Apple.
Apple wants to ensure that an audible signal clearly confirms that a payment has been completed, in line with its own security standards.
Why don't I see the Springly β Tap to Pay app in my app store?
There are two possible explanations:
-
Your smartphone's OS version may not support payments.
-
For Android, you need at least Android 12.
-
For iOS, the minimum required version is iOS 17.3.
In either case, the app will not appear in the store, even if your phone has NFC capability.

Our app is brand new, so its search ranking is still building up.
If it doesn't show up when you search "Springly" or "Tap to Pay", try searching by its full name:
