If you have advanced groups, their administrators can publish blog articles on the main platform's website. To enable this, two settings need to be configured: one on the parent (or main) platform side, and one on the advanced group side. This article walks you through both.
- Allow group administrators to publish on the main website
- Publish articles from an advanced group to the main website
Allow group administrators to publish on the main website
Example: You run a multi-sport nonprofit. You want each sports section to be able to publish its news on your website to keep your organization's communications consistent.
You've created a blog page on your nonprofit's website and want it to feature articles from:
- administrators at the main level of your nonprofit (such as your communications leads);
- as well as administrators at the group level (section managers).
To allow a group to publish content on a page created from the main platform, follow these steps:
- Go to Website > Menus and Pages;
- On the blog page you want to edit, click the 3 dots to the right of the page;
- Click the
- Page name and visibility icon.
The window below will appear. Check Allow your advanced groups to publish content on this page and save.
Note: this option is only available for blog pages.
The page is now ready to host articles written by administrators of your main space, as well as administrators of your advanced groups.
Publish articles from an advanced group to the main website
The decision to publish an advanced group's article on the main platform's website is also made at the group level!
If your advanced group has selected the "Dedicated website" option under Website > Website type, it will not be able to select a blog page from the main platform to publish its articles. It will only be able to publish articles on its own blog page, independent from the main platform's website.
Only advanced groups with the site type set to "Space within the site" will be able to publish on the parent platform's website.
If a blog page on the main platform has been configured to host articles written by your advanced groups (as described in part 1), group administrators can select that page when writing an article at the group level — under the "Parent site page(s)" section.
