From your administrator dashboard, you can create or edit polls and track their results. Polls are a great way to engage your members β they strengthen the sense of belonging to your organization and give you valuable insights to improve your work.
Polls are only accessible to logged-in members (who have set up a login account). You cannot create a poll open to the public. This ensures that each person can only respond once.
Enable the "Polls" feature
Go to Settings > Feature Selection (at the bottom of the left sidebar) and enable the "Polls" feature if it isn't already turned on.
Once the feature is enabled, you can access it from Website > Polls, in the "Smart pages" section.
Create and configure a poll
You'll land on the poll editing page. Fill in the required information β fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory.
Choose whether you want your poll to be anonymous, or whether you want to see each member's individual responses. Click either option as shown above.
Once you've filled in the details, add your first question by clicking the dedicated button. A question block will expand.
Fill in:
- the question label: the question as your members will see it;
- an optional description;
- the question type;
- the answer choices, depending on the question type selected.
You have 4 question types to choose from:
| Question type | Description |
| Multiple choice β multiple answers | Members can select more than one answer. Example: Do you like these fruits? apple, banana, orange. A member can select orange and banana. |
| Multiple choice β single answer | Members can only select one answer. Example: Which of the 3 fruits below is your favorite? apple, banana, orange. A member can select apple, banana, or orange. |
| Ranking | Members rank the answers in order of preference. Example: Rank these fruits: apple, banana, orange A member might answer: 1. apple 2. banana 3. orange |
| Open-ended | Members can type any answer β there are no predefined options. Example: What is your favorite fruit? Answer: apricot. |
Tip: since answer choices appear in alphabetical order, you can use letters (as shown above) to control the order in which they appear.
Edit poll questions
Please note: you cannot edit the answer choices in a poll once a member has already responded. If that's the case, create a new poll instead.
To edit a poll, follow these steps:
- Go to the main "Polls" page in your application;
- Hover over the poll you want to edit and click the "Manage" button that appears;
- You'll be taken to the poll editing page.
