What are the requirements to set up online payments on Springly?
There are two requirements:
- Have a Liberty, Serenity, or Professional plan β whether you're a subscriber or on a free trial
- Have opened an e-wallet from Payments > Activation
Once that's done, you're ready to accept online payments.
Can you accept online payments without a verified e-wallet?
Yes β you can start collecting online payments as soon as you create your e-wallet.
For legal reasons, you cannot transfer funds from your e-wallet to your bank account until your e-wallet is verified.
You have 4 weeks to complete e-wallet verification. After that, your e-wallet is frozen and you can no longer accept online payments. You then have an additional 2 weeks to complete verification before funds are refunded to payers.
We strongly recommend verifying your e-wallet as soon as you create it. It's quick and easy β and saves you from scrambling to get it done before the 4-week deadline.
What documents are needed for e-wallet verification?
To verify your e-wallet, you'll need to provide 3 documents:
- A registration number confirming your nonprofit's legal existence (such as your EIN or state registration number)
- A government-issued ID for the Legal Representative
- Your nonprofit's bank account details (void check or bank letter)
In some cases, an additional document may be requested. Our team will reach out to you if so.
How does e-wallet verification work?
Everything happens directly in your platform, under Payments > E-wallet β Verify my account.
Follow the steps, upload the required documents, and submit.
You'll receive an email confirming that your documents have been received.
Our payment partner reviews and verifies your account within a few days.
You'll get an email once verification is complete. From that point on, you can collect online payments without any limits.
Do you need to verify your e-wallet if you don't use online payments?
No β if you don't use online payments, there's no need to verify your e-wallet.
That said, we still encourage you to create and verify your e-wallet:
- It's quick and free
- It lets you explore online payments, including using the Payment Link
- When you're ready to start accepting payments, everything will already be set up and waiting!
The requested documents are sensitive. How are they kept secure during transmission and storage?
