The Payment Link is THE best way to collect card payments quickly and effortlessly. It saves you time, lets you say goodbye to checks, and brings your nonprofit into the modern age. Here's how it works:
What is Springly's Payment Link?
The Payment Link lets you collect money online in a simple, fast, and secure way.
It can be used in a variety of situations — following up on an unpaid balance, charging for a service, or even running a fundraiser.
Instead of sharing sensitive banking details, you can collect any amount you choose from your contacts securely — in just a few clicks.
How do you use the Payment Link?
3 simple steps ⤵️
1. Create the Payment Link
Go to Payments > Payment Link, then click "Create a Payment Link."
In the dialog box that opens, fill in:
- Recipient(s) — either contacts from your community or email addresses. You can add up to 10 people.
- The requested amount — the same for everyone.
- A description — a short message to reassure the recipient and boost the likelihood of payment.
A unique Payment Link is generated and sent directly by email.
All generated links appear in the table on the dedicated page. You can copy them and share them with recipients through other channels.
Until payment is made:
- the status shows as "Payment requested,"
- the link remains active for 15 days, unless an Administrator deactivates it sooner.
2. The recipient receives the link and pays
Each recipient receives an email with a personal, secure link like this one:
When they click "Pay," they're taken to a secure page showing the payment details.
Payment is by credit or debit card only.
If you've chosen the suggested Tip option instead of Payment Fees, that setting also applies to the Payment Link.
The recipient enters their card details and completes their bank's security verification. They then receive an email confirmation of the transaction.
3. Platform updates
Once payment is made, 3 things are updated:
- the payment status changes from "Payment requested" to "Paid,"
- the collected amount is credited to your E-wallet (Payments > E-wallet),
- for Serenity and Professional plans, the payment is recorded in your accounting.
How secure are Payment Links?
- Payment Links are encrypted (HTTPS) to protect user information.
- Bank authentication is required — such as a text message or approval through the bank's app.
- Links expire after 15 days to prevent fraud. An Administrator can also deactivate them earlier.
- Users receive email notifications for every completed or declined payment, making it easy to spot suspicious activity.
- Suspicious activity can be reported to our team in one click, and we can deactivate any affected links.
- Springly and Adyen comply with high security standards, including PCI DSS, to protect sensitive data.
- Personal and financial data is handled securely, with a strong focus on privacy.
While Springly takes every measure to ensure maximum security, Administrators also need to be aware of the risks and take steps to protect their own information — for example, by avoiding sharing Payment Links through unsecured channels.
