The Website Module
Overview
Managing your website involves two aspects:
- The Domain Name: the address (URL, starting with https) that displays your site's content when entered in a browser (1);
- The content: the theme, menus, and pages you create in the platform (2).
You can publish your site using the default domain name provided. It takes the form my-site.assoconnect.com, where my-site reflects your platform name.
How it works
From this module, you can edit your website content by creating:
- Pages, either based on a template or fully customized;
- A theme you can tailor to your needs, along with a menu structure;
- A header and footer design.
Your Domain Name can be customized by changing the "my-site" portion of the default domain name, or by connecting a fully custom domain to your site.
Main Features
Customize Your Website
To build a website that reflects your organization's identity, you can choose a theme and set the overall layout. You can also adjust advanced settings such as primary colors, menus, and background.
You can also customize other elements:
- The header and footer design;
- The favicon, the icon that appears next to your URL in the browser;
- The short name, the "my-site" portion of your default domain name.
Manage Your Site Structure
By creating menus and adding pages to them, you define your site's navigation structure. You can reorder these elements however you like.
The visibility of menus and pages can also be configured individually to restrict access to specific groups or categories of people.
Create Your Pages
The easiest way to get started is to create pages using templates (Blog page, Calendar, etc.). These require no layout work on your part.
To go further, you can build custom pages from scratch. The process is straightforward — simply drag elements onto a grid for easy layout. You can add:
- A background;
- Text blocks, images, or videos;
- A button to redirect visitors to another page.
Customize Your Domain Name
By default, a domain name in the format my-site.assoconnect.com is assigned to your platform. If you prefer, you can connect a custom domain name to your platform. This can be a domain:
- that we purchase and manage on your behalf;
- that you already own and can be linked to your platform.
Settings
Manage Your Site's Visibility
By default, your site is visible to everyone — this is the active site setting. If needed, you can switch to maintenance mode from the Website > Settings & Theme page. This will display a message letting visitors know your site is under construction and not yet available.
Manage Your Sign-up / Login Page
Set up your sign-up page to let people create an account on your platform. Just like with a Form or ticketing page, you can configure which information to collect during sign-up.
You can also customize your login options:
- By updating its design;
- By configuring authentication options (sign in with Google, or restrict login to a specific domain);
- By adding a login button to your menu.
Settings such as favicon, sign-up page, Google Analytics, etc. for an independent advanced group cannot be modified, even if the group's site type is set to "Dedicated Website". These settings are controlled by the main platform.
