The Directory is a feature tied to your Website. It lets you add directory-type pages to your site. In this article, we walk you through how to set up your Directory.
You've already created a directory page. Now it's time to configure it.
Manage your page visibility
To control who can (or can't) see your pages, go to Website > Menu.
Click the three dots next to the page you want to update, then select "Page name and visibility".
Choose who can view the page, then save.
Choose who to display in your directory page
The Directory is linked to your community.
Go to Website > Directory pages and click "Manage" on the directory you want to configure.
You'll land on the settings page. At the top, you'll see "People to display in the directory".
Select who to display from the available options:
- Community: all people registered in your community
- Administrators
- Specific groups → you can then select the group of your choice
- Members
- Donors
Make your selection and save at the bottom of the page.
Choose what information to display on your directory page
The directory page offers two views:
- The main page, displayed immediately with all the people you've selected,
- The detailed view of a person's information, shown when you click on their profile from the main page.
Configure these options from the directory settings page.
Basic information as well as your community's Custom Fields are available. For each one, you can choose to:
- Display the information on the main page,
- Display the information when clicking on Details,
- Hide the information entirely.
Don't forget to save your settings (at the bottom of the page).
Please note: people are displayed in alphabetical order by last name. This order cannot be changed.
Preview your directory before publishing
From Website > Directory pages, click the "Preview" button on the directory you want to check (you can create multiple directories).
Here's an example of what a directory looks like when it displays:
- a group containing 2 people,
- only the first name and photo in the main view,
- last name, phone number, and dietary preferences in the detail view.
The directory:
The detail view:
Please note: the profile photo is displayed as a circular thumbnail (just like in the profile detail view under Community > Contacts).
Publish your directory page
Once your page is set up the way you want it, publish it to your website by going to Website > Menu and dragging it to the left side of your screen, like this:
