Nonprofit eligibility requirements
The nonprofit must:
- Be based in France
- Have an RNA number
- Not operate in a restricted or high-risk sector (see the full list here)
Both the nonprofit's president and the Business Account holder (who may be the same person) must also reside within the European Economic Area.
Requirements to log in to the Business Account
Setting up access to the Business Account requires a phone:
- With network coverage to receive an SMS and verify your phone number
- With a working camera to complete identity verification
Once the account has been created, logging in to the Business Account requires a phone:
- With internet access,
- And either:
- Network coverage to receive an SMS
- A working camera to scan a QR code
Required documents and information
The documents you need to provide may vary depending on your nonprofit's bylaws and who is opening the account. There are three possible scenarios:
Scenario 1: The account holder is the nonprofit's president
- Meeting minutes
Scenario 2: The account holder is not the president, but is authorized by the bylaws to open an account
- Meeting minutes
- The nonprofit's bylaws, to document this authorization
Scenario 3: The account holder is not the president and is not authorized by the bylaws
- Meeting minutes
- A signed power of attorney from the president authorizing them to open the account
- A copy of the president's government-issued ID
Other information required when opening the account
Legal Representative (usually the president)
- First and last name
- Date and place of birth, mailing address
- Phone number
Important: the Legal Representative must also have a valid, undamaged government-issued ID: a passport or national identity card that is current and in good condition.
Nonprofit
- Nonprofit name
- Type and description of activities
- Registration number (e.g., RNA or SIREN)
- Registered address
Account holder
- First and last name
- Mailing address
- Phone number
Platform setup
To create your Business Account, two steps are required in your platform:
- You must enable the Business Account module (learn more)
- A payment method must be added
Note: once your Business Account is created, you can add it as a payment method if you wish.
