This article walks you through the steps to open a Business Account for your nonprofit.
For nonprofit networks, feel free to schedule a meeting with one of our experts here: Book a meeting.
Here are the steps to open your Business Account:
- Activate the Business Account module
- Step 1: Your information
- Step 2: Your subscription
- Step 3: Identity verification
- Step 4: Validation
Activate the Business Account module
If the Business Account menu is already visible on your platform, you can skip to the next step.
Otherwise, go to Settings > Feature selection.
Click Learn more, then activate the module:
The Business Account menu now appears on your platform β congrats!
Important: you won't be billed for your Business Account until it's actually open. So there's nothing to worry about β activating the module and working through the steps doesn't commit you to anything.
Open your Business Account
When you click the Business Account menu, you'll have the option to book a demo with our experts, who can answer any questions you may have.
Otherwise, click Open a Business Account:
Step 1: Your information
You'll need to fill out a form covering:
- Your nonprofit (name, address, registration number, purpose, etc.): any information already on your platform will be pre-filled automatically
- Your president (first name, last name, contact details): you can select an existing profile for your president or create one directly on Springly
- The account holder: this can be your president or another authorized member of your nonprofit
The account holder will be responsible for completing the account setup on their smartphone starting from Step 3. This person must therefore have access to both a computer and a phone.
- Required documents: depending on the account holder's identity, you may be asked to provide certain documents (signed meeting minutes, articles of incorporation, etc.)
Once the form is complete and saved, you'll move on to the next step.
Step 2: Your subscription
Billing method
If your platform doesn't already have one on file, you'll need to add a payment method so your first Business Account invoice can be charged when the time comes.
You can update this payment method at any time after your Business Account is created.
Note: You won't be charged right away. Billing for the Business Account only begins once the account is open and ready to use.
Your account holder
This is the person you designated as the Legal Representative of the Business Account in the previous step.
This user will need to log in with their own Springly account, linked to the email address provided, to finalize the account opening on their smartphone.
If you'd like to change this, click "Previous" to go back.
Subscription type
Next, choose between a monthly or annual subscription.
Note: committing to annual billing gets you 2 months free.
Once you click Subscribe, you'll move on to the confirmation step.
Step 3: Identity verification
Following the previous step, the account holder will be asked to:
- create their user account with our partner via SMS
- set a 6-digit access code on their smartphone
- verify their identity using their documents (government-issued ID or passport) on their smartphone
If you get stuck at any of these steps, go to the Business Account menu on your platform β that screen will help you pick up where you left off.
Step 4: Validation
You're on the final step: opening your account.
Note: validation takes up to 2 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays). If any information or documents are missing, our partner will reach out to you directly. The timeline may extend to up to 72 hours from the submission of any additional documents.
Once your Business Account is approved, you'll receive an email. Congratulations β your Business Account is open and ready to use! π
