You've enabled online payment on your forms (memberships, donations, events, etc.), or used the payment link to collect money in seconds.
The money sits in your e-wallet, a virtual account linked to your bank account. This money belongs to you and can be transferred to your bank account whenever you like. Here's how it works, using 2 purchase examples (User 1 and User 2) at different price points.
- Payment at the time of transaction
- Receiving funds in your e-wallet
- Transferring funds from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account
This article covers the case where the nonprofit absorbs the payment fees. Alternatively, check out the tip feature, which lets you cover zero payment fees.
Payment at the time of transaction
Two users (User 1 and User 2) register through an event ticketing form published on your website. Both pay by credit card at different price points:
- User 1 pays $10
- User 2 pays $30
Receiving funds in your e-wallet
The total amount paid by both users comes to $40.
From that total, payment fees are deducted — in this example, $1.22:
- $0.43, i.e. $10 × 1.8% + $0.25 for User 1
- $0.79, i.e. $30 × 1.8% + $0.25 for User 2
Payment fees are deducted before the funds reach your e-wallet.
The balance shown in your e-wallet reflects the total amount that will be transferred to your nonprofit's bank account. You can access this page from Payments > E-wallet.
Transferring funds from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account
You can request a transfer from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account at any time. To do so, go to your e-wallet page and click the yellow "Transfer to my bank" button.
You can then select the bank account to transfer to, as well as the amount.
Transfer as often as you like — there are no fees for moving funds from your e-wallet to your bank account.
If the "Transfer to my bank" button is grayed out, the transfer cannot be completed for one of the following reasons:
- your e-wallet balance is zero
- your e-wallet has not yet been verified
- your last transfer was made less than 5 days ago (transfers take 5 business days to process).
