This frequently asked question deserves its own article. Here are the answers you've been waiting for.
What can you do in Springly?
❌ Springly does not support generating quotes.
✅ However, Springly can automatically generate invoices tied to your forms — which you can use to create them on demand.
Note: this is a workaround, not the primary intended use of this feature. We're sharing it here because it's genuinely useful, even if it falls outside the feature's core purpose.
How do you generate invoices "on demand" in Springly?
Let's say you need to generate an invoice for a service or product sale that takes place entirely outside of Springly.
Take the example of a paid service provided to an organization. Once the work is done, the organization asks you for an invoice.
Create a Product Sales page
Enable the "Product Sales" feature from Settings > Feature Selection.
Make sure your invoices are properly configured under Settings > Tax Receipts and Invoices.
Once that's done, go to Forms > Product Sales → Create a product sales page.
Focus especially on step 2, "Products and Pricing": set up the item for which you need an invoice. Add VAT if applicable. Save.
Complete the remaining steps.
At step 5 "Publication", simply select "No public form" — this form is for internal use only, solely to generate the invoice.
Save.
Record the purchase in the Product Sales page
Go to the "Buyers" tab of the form you just created.
Click "Add a Registrant".
Fill in the details. Nothing will be sent to the email address provided unless you check "Send the receipt by email".
Click "Continue".
You'll land on the payment recording page.
You have two options:
- If you want an "Unpaid" invoice, click "Do it later"
- If you want a "Paid" invoice, enter the payment details
Save.
Note: this step automatically generates book entries in your accounting — specifically the revenue (and payment, if applicable) associated with the transaction.
Access the invoice
From the "Buyers" tab, you'll find the purchase you just recorded.
Click on the transaction details.
The invoice has been automatically generated. You can access it at the top of the page.
As long as the service hasn't been marked as paid, the invoice will show as "Unpaid".
Once a payment is recorded (which you may have done in the previous step), the invoice will appear as paid.
Regardless of the invoice status, you can download it as a PDF and send it to your contacts.
