If your nonprofit uses Springly's accounting module, it can be helpful at the end of each month to have a document that lets you compare your accounting records with what appears in your Springly e-wallet.
At the beginning of each month (around the 3rd), we automatically generate a document called the "Wallet Statement" for you.
Where to find your Wallet Statement
If you are on a paid plan (Serenity or Professional), you can access this document from Forms > Online Payment > My Wallet Statement > My Balance tab, then click Download (eye icon).
If you are on the Liberty plan, navigate to Payments > Online Payment — the rest of the path is the same.
Understanding your Wallet Statement
The top of the document displays your nonprofit's information: logo, organization name, and address.
The document starts with your e-wallet balance at the beginning of the previous month and then lists all transactions that occurred during that month.
The transactions recorded include:
- all online payments for the month;
- payment fees charged at the end of the month;
- any refunds issued during the month;
- any payouts made from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account;
- any payment bounces encountered during the month.
The document then shows your e-wallet's end-of-month balance, which is compared against the accounting balance for that account. The last line highlights any discrepancy between the two balances.
All e-wallet transactions are automatically recorded in your accounting, so you will typically have a balanced statement at the end of the month.
However, incorrect entries may have been recorded in the past, causing an imbalance. If a discrepancy exists, a note will be added to the document explaining the next steps: either contact us or resolve it yourself.
Important: this statement is not a bank statement. It can, however, be used to justify your balance to an auditor or accountant.
To view all of your e-wallet transactions, go to the My Transactions tab.
