When you export your General Ledger from Springly, you get an Excel file. To print it or share it as a readable PDF, you need to configure the page layout so the content fits properly on the page.
Here are the steps depending on your operating system and software.
๐ On Mac
With Microsoft Excel
Quick method (via Print)
- Open your Excel file
- Go to File > Print
- In the print dialog:
- Make sure the paper size is set to Letter
- Find the Scaling option
- Select "Fit Sheet on One Page"
- Check the result in the preview on the right
- Click PDF > Save as PDF
Alternative method (more precise)
- Click the Page Layout tab in the ribbon
- In the Scale to Fit section, set:
- Width: 1 page
- Height: 1 page
- Go back to File > Print, then PDF > Save as PDF
With Numbers (Apple)
Numbers makes this especially straightforward:
- Go to File > Print
- Check the option: "Scale each page to fit the paper"
- Make sure the paper size is set to Letter
- Click PDF > Save as PDF

Ctrl + P) - In the print dialog, click Options or Properties
- Select a virtual PDF printer (e.g., Microsoft Print to PDF on Windows, or Save as PDF on Mac)
- Check the layout in the preview and print
Alternative method (via Export as PDF)
- Go to Format > Page (or Styles > Page Styles depending on your version)
- On the Sheet tab, find the Scaling section and select:
- "Fit print range(s) to width/height"
- Set 1 page wide and 1 page tall

- Go to File > Export as PDF

๐ก Tip: If your document is very wide (e.g., a General Ledger with many columns), use Landscape orientation in your page settings for better readability.
