This article covers the following topics:
View a member's membership period
When creating your Membership Campaign or adding someone as a member, you set the membership period.
To view a member's membership period, go to their profile from the Community > Contacts page.
Members are identified by the π symbol. Click Detail π to open their profile.
Once on their profile, click the Memberships tab to see their membership period.
View the membership list
A Membership Campaign lets members of your nonprofit β or the general public β sign up. You can add members yourself from the administrator area, or open online sign-up so members can register on their own.
You can access your member list either through your Contacts list or through your Membership Campaign.
From the Contacts list
When someone joins through a Membership Campaign, they become a member and their profile is automatically created in your contact database β if it doesn't already exist.
If the person is already in your database, Springly will recognize them and add the new membership period to their profile.
Go to Community > Contacts to filter your contacts by Members and Former Members. All members are displayed, across all Membership Campaigns.
The small yellow medal badges make it easy to spot your nonprofit's members at a glance.
Member searches are accurate to the month for performance reasons. A search for members on 09/28/2017 will display everyone who was a member at any point during September 2017. The exact membership period, down to the day, is shown on each member's profile.
From the Membership Campaign
Go to Community > Memberships, then click Manage for the campaign you want.
Open the Members tab: the list of members for that campaign appears here.
From a member's profile
On a member's profile β accessible from Community > Contacts by clicking the Detail button for the relevant person β you'll find several tabs, including Memberships, where you can track each member's membership history.
View the list of former members
Springly makes it easy to manage your members: you can track both current members and former members within your community.
What is a member, and what is a former member?
In Springly, a member is someone who has paid dues to the nonprofit. A member is therefore a contact in your database linked to the organization through a financial transaction.
Member status is valid for a defined period: when someone joins your nonprofit, they are considered a member for the period you set.
Since member status is time-limited, Springly classifies as "former members" anyone who was previously a member and whose membership period has expired.
How do you tell a current member from a former member?
On the Community page
On the Community page, you can quickly see who is a current member and who is not β or no longer β a member using the Filter tool.
Current members are identified by the icon, and non-members are identified by
.
On the person's profile
On a person's profile, their membership history is available under the Memberships section.
You can see their full membership history: periods when the person was a member are shown in green, and periods when they were not are shown in gray.
