Leadership transitions are a natural part of nonprofit life!
When that happens, it's important to update Springly accordingly so the transition goes smoothly. The goal: make sure the incoming board has everything they need, the outgoing board can hand things off cleanly, and everyone walks away happy! π
Update Administrators
π‘ This is important: all communications about your platform β including product updates and support resources β are sent to Administrators.
New people, new email addresses
When new board members join with new email addresses, you'll need to add them as Administrators in Springly.
See this article: Add an Administrator
Once that's done, remember to remove the outgoing Administrators: Remove an Administrator (a brief overlap period may be helpful to ensure a smooth handover).
New person, same email address
If someone new steps into a role but keeps the same email address (for example, the new bookkeeper still uses comptabilite@mon-asso.fr), all you need to do is update the first and last name associated with that email.
For example, if "Jane Smith" is replaced by "John Doe", update that information in the contact's profile.
That way, messages will reach the right person β not the previous one π
Training and Handover
Make sure to share the Springly Help Center with incoming Administrators: Springly Help Center. It's packed with guides and tips to help them manage your nonprofit effectively.
Take the time to organize a thorough handover as well. New Administrators may feel overwhelmed at first β that's completely normal. A proper handover makes all the difference.
If needed, show new Administrators how to reach our support team:
