When you create a Form or event ticketing in Springly, you can configure a number of settings. To keep things simple, the default configuration includes only a limited set of options.
You can also choose to enable more advanced settings. This article covers the registrant controls configuration, which includes four types.
- Enable registrant controls
- Limit the total number of participants on a Form or ticketing event
- Limit the number of participants for a specific rate or package
- Limit the number of sign-ups per person on a Form
- Restrict rates or packages to specific groups in your community
For other types of advanced settings, please refer to this section.
Note: The information in this article applies to all Form types available in Springly β Membership Campaigns, Donation Campaigns, ticketing events, and Product Sales β which all work in a similar way. Some terms (such as participants, members, or buyers) may vary depending on the Form type.
Enable registrant controls
You can enable registrant controls for your Forms and ticketing events.
Note: Enabling these settings will make them available in various places throughout the configuration pages for all your Forms and ticketing events. You can then choose whether or not to use them.
To access the advanced settings activation page, go to Settings > Forms and ticketing, then toggle on (green button) the type of limits you want to enable.
Limit the total number of participants on a Form or ticketing event
If you have a limited number of spots for an event, for example, you can use this option to automatically close sign-ups once the cap is reached β no risk of overbooking.
Find this setting at step 4 - Payment and confirmation:
- Click More options below the payment method settings;
- Enter the total number of participants / memberships / buyers for this Form;
- Click Save (at the top of the page) or Publish (at the bottom) to apply your changes.
Limit the number of participants for a specific rate or package
This works the same way as limiting the total number of participants on a Form or ticketing event, except the cap applies at the individual rate level.
Example: I have 6 spots for the English class, so I set 6 as the maximum for that rate.
Find this setting at step 2 - Rates (and packages):
- On the rate of your choice, click Settings (gear icon);
- Then click + options;
- Check Limit the number of participants for this rate (or Maximum available quantity) and enter the maximum number of participants;
- Confirm the rate and make sure to save your Form afterward.
Limit the number of sign-ups per person on a Form
By default, when registering through a Form or ticketing event, your contacts can add another person. If you want to restrict this β for example, to allow individual sign-ups only β you can set a maximum number of sign-ups per end-user.
Find this setting at step 4 - Payment and confirmation:
- Click More options below the payment method settings;
- Enter the maximum number of times an end-user can sign up;
- Click Save (at the top of the page) or Publish (at the bottom) to apply your changes.
Restrict rates or packages to specific groups in your community
This option is available for Product Sales and Event forms only. It lets you restrict certain rates to specific groups of people.
Find this setting at step 2 - Rates (and packages):
- On the rate of your choice, click Settings (gear icon);
- Then click + options;
- Check Restrict to specific people (for online sign-ups only) and select the category of people you want to limit this rate to;
- Confirm the rate and make sure to save your Form afterward.
Important: To access a rate restricted to a specific group, your members must be logged in to their accounts at the time of sign-up.
