The Events module lets you restrict your event or specific pricing tiers to certain types of people in your community.
First, make sure this option is enabled. If it isn't, go to your platform's settings center, under Settings > Forms and ticketing.
More specifically, this option:
This way, you can restrict a pricing tier to specific groups or types of registered persons in your community. This article walks you through how to do it.
For a person to be recognized as a specific member type, they must log in to their account before completing the transaction. Buyers who check out without an account will not be able to access the restricted pricing tier.
Restrict a pricing tier to specific people
Go to Events, click on manage offer for the target offer, and open the Pricing section of the form.
Then open the target ticket/option you want to restrict access to:
Click the Restrict to specific people option. A section will expand, allowing you to limit the ticket/option to certain types of people.
You can then choose to restrict the ticket/option to:
- Your members or donors.
- People belonging to a specific group.
Confirm the pricing tier and save your changes — the tier is now restricted to specific people.
The Buyer can add participants even if those participants don't meet the access criteria for the pricing tier. The platform can only verify the access condition for the logged-in user (the Buyer).
You enabled the option but nothing appears.
If you clicked on restrict to specific people but no groups appear, it means you haven't created any groups yet.
To fix this, go to Community > Groups and create your groups.
