People registered in your Community can access their profile page, which brings together all of their personal information.
These fields are determined by your settings in the Community configuration (see the article Configuring your contacts database fields).
In this article, we'll cover:
- When should personal information be updated?
- Accessing a profile page from the nonprofit's website
- Accessing a profile page via a direct link
- Editing profile information
When should personal information be updated?
Most personal information doesn't change very often — a date of birth, for example, stays the same for life.
But some details do change — like a home address or phone number. And the key to a useful, reliable database is keeping that information accurate and up to date.
When members renew, their personal information (already on file in your Community) is not requested again. This keeps the renewal process quick and simple.
In these situations, we recommend encouraging renewing members to review their personal information and update anything that has changed.
Here's how.
Accessing a profile page from the nonprofit's website
If you built your website on Springly, you can create a login page directly accessible from your site.
See the article Creating a sign-up/login page on your Springly website.
In that case, direct members to your website, where they can click the "Log in" button and enter their credentials. Once logged in, they'll see a "My account" button that takes them straight to their profile page.
Accessing a profile page via a direct link
During or after your renewal period, you'll likely be in touch with your members by email — a great opportunity to remind them to check that their personal information is current.
In your email, include a direct link to their profile page. They'll simply need to log in to access it.
The link to send follows this format:
- https://xxxxx.assoconnect.com/membres/profil/ if you haven't set up a custom domain name.
E.g.: https://mon-asso-123-coco.assoconnect.com/membres/profil/ - https://yourdomainname/membres/profil if you have a custom domain name.
E.g.: http://openasso.org/membres/profil/
If they're not already logged in, they'll be taken to a login page first. Once they've entered their credentials, they'll land directly on their profile page, where they can make any needed updates.
Editing profile information
Once on their profile page, the member can update their information by clicking the "Update profile" button.
