Bank reconciliation lets you verify that your accounting balance matches your bank balance and flag any discrepancies. But sometimes, after importing transactions, you may notice that a book entry is missing from your accounting records.
Good news: you can create that entry directly from your reconciliation statement โ no need to go through the book entry tool!
Here's how.
Go to your bank statement. You have an imported bank transaction (left column) with no corresponding book entry in Springly:
Click on the bank transaction. A window opens:
Edit the label if needed, fill in the accounting account and any other relevant details (the contact linked to the entry, invoice, etc.), then click Create Entry.
That's it! Your entry will appear in your accounting records and you'll be able to reconcile the transaction with the newly created entry.
To avoid this situation, we recommend reconciling your accounts every month and creating any missing entries as you go.
Important: your entry may already exist but appear on a different statement than the one containing the transaction. In that case, creating a new entry would result in a duplicate. For more details, please refer to this article.
