Want to embed a video on your website? You can do it using the video block or iframe blocks.
This article covers the following topics:
- Where to add a video block on the page
- Adding a video to the page
- Other video block options
- Adding a video via an iframe link
Where to add a video block on the page
Open the page you want to work on from the Website module.
Here's how:
- Go to Website > Menus and Pages;
- On the custom page you want to edit (identified by the icon
), hover over the three horizontal dots
;
- then click Edit page.
You are now on the page in edit mode.
If you're logged in as an Administrator and viewing your site in preview mode, click the "Edit page" button at the top of any page to go directly to the editing menu.
Adding a video to the page
To add a video to your page, drag the "Video" block and drop it onto the editing grid. To learn how to add a block, see our dedicated article.
Once the block is placed on the grid, a browser window will open. Enter the end of the URL of your YouTube video (the part after "watch?v=").
Note: Only videos hosted on YouTube can be added using this block. For help uploading videos to YouTube, visit their Help Center. To add videos hosted elsewhere, see the section below.
Once you've entered the end of the URL, click "Save". The video preview will load.
After the video loads, you can resize the block by adjusting its height and/or width. The video will automatically adapt to fit the block size.
Other video block options
Editing options appear at the top of the left-hand menu (if they don't show up, make sure the block is selected — click on it if it isn't):
-
Edit the URL entered; -
Delete the block; -
Adjust the outer margins of your block; -
Duplicate the block.
Once you've made your changes, don't forget to click "Save" in the top left of the editing page.
Adding a video via an iframe link
You can add videos hosted on other platforms using the iframe block.
To get the iframe link for a YouTube video, for example, click Share (below the video), then Embed, and finally click the Copy button.
Then paste that link into an iframe block on your custom page. For instructions, see our dedicated article: Adding an Iframe block to a custom page.
Note: When adding a video via the video block (YouTube), visitors to your site must accept cookies to watch the video. If you add the same video via an iframe block, cookie consent on your site is not required — cookies are handled directly by YouTube (which does not request consent).
